John Rainwater

Arkansas Injury Attorney

John Rainwater has been practicing law in Arkansas since 2009. While he is primarily focused on his personal injury practice, he has also represented debtors in chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcy cases, handled disability cases, litigated class action cases against multi-million dollar companies and defended law enforcement officers in Section 1983 cases. He litigates cases in federal and state court, and has also tried cases in front of the Arkansas Claims Commission.

After completing his Juris Doctorate at the University of Arkansas School of Law in Little Rock, Arkansas, John was admitted as a member to the Arkansas Bar in 2009. He was also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas in 2009. and practiced before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas in 2011.

Before becoming an attorney, John earned his B.S.B.A. in Accountancy from the Sam Walton School of Business at the University of Arkansas in 2005. John’s accounting degree trained him to think practically, efficiently, and logically, allowing him to be a better advocate for his clients. He puts this education and experience to work every day in serving his clients’ interests.

John is a board member of the Volunteers’ Organization Center for Arkansas Legal Services (VOCALS), and is a board member of the Alumni Association of the William H. Bowen School of Law. He was a member of the House of Delegates of the Arkansas Bar Association from 2015-2018, has served on several different committees of the Arkansas Bar Association, and was a member of the Executive Council of the Young Lawyers’ Section of the Arkansas Bar Association from 2014-2018.  He was the treasurer, vice-president and president of the Debtor-Creditor Bar of Central Arkansas from 2014-2017. He is an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church, and has coached little league baseball at Junior Deputy since 2015.

John was recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in Little Rock for Bankruptcy in 2015, 2016, 2017.  He also recognized and distinguished by the “National Trial Lawyers,” and “Top 100 Trial Lawyers.”  He was presented with Awards of Excellence from the Arkansas Bar Association Young Lawyers’ Section in 2014-2017, and was the Judith Ryan Gray Outstanding Young Lawyer Service Award recipient in 2017. John has been a frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars including the Annual Arkansas Debtor/Creditor Law Institute and the National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees Annual Meeting.

John is deeply devoted to helping people who have been hurt, harmed or otherwise challenged by the legal system. His ability to understand and empathize with his clients make him a very successful and effective advocate. John currently lives in Little Rock with his wife, daughter and two sons. John loves being a dad, and spending time with his family.
