Geoff Thompson

Arkansas Injury Attorney

Geoff Thompson was born and raised in a small farming town (Thirsk, North Yorkshire) in England. He first traveled to Arkansas in 1991 to coach soccer camps around the southern states. Geoff returned to Arkansas in 1994 to attend the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) and play soccer for the University. He was awarded All-Conference honors for his performance in 1994. After completing his undergraduate degree, Geoff went on to complete a Masters in Business Administration at UALR before attending law school at the William H. Bowen School of Law in Little Rock.

After graduating law school, Geoff worked for a short time for a firm that primarily handled bankruptcy cases before accepting a position at the Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Over the next three years he handled many cases and gained litigation experience. During that time, he had the privilege of helping many crime victims and their families and working with them during very difficult times. Geoff tried numerous bench and jury trials as a prosecuting attorney, including five murder trials.

Geoff was offered the opportunity to work at the Arkansas Municipal League where he spent over three years defending cities and city officials throughout Arkansas. The transition allowed Geoff to gain experience litigating civil cases. He worked for the federal government for three years prior to joining Rainwater, Holt & Sexton as legal counsel for the Pine Bluff Arsenal.

Geoff started at Rainwater, Holt & Sexton in September 2012 and began in the county defense department. He transitioned to personal injury law and now primarily handles litigation cases, including vehicle collisions, tractor-trailer collisions and nursing home neglect cases.

Geoff is a member of the Pulaski County Bar Association, the Arkansas Bar Association and the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association. When he’s not practicing law, he is on the soccer field coaching his kids’ soccer teams, biking or playing tennis.
