Arkansas Aims to Reduce Highway Fatalities To Zero With New Safety Campaign

February 24, 2014

The Little Rock Car Accident Lawyers with Rainwater, Holt & Sexton explain that hundreds of thousands of motorists are affected by traffic accidents and fatalities in Arkansas every year. The state is now working to address this problem by implementing a new highway safety campaign.

According to Arkansas Online, the Arkansas State Police, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department, and the Arkansas Department of Health are all partnering in the Toward Zero Deaths campaign, an initiative focused on reducing the number of motor vehicle accident fatalities the state records each year to none.

The organizations plan to continue current measures that are in place, including the use of rumble strips and other specialized roadway equipment to prevent accidents. Furthermore, a new 30-second Public Service Announcement promoting highway safety is showing on television networks statewide.

The movement leads many motorists to question what they can do to help prevent accidents. Officials say one of the greatest problems on the road today is distracted drivers. That is why the Little Rock Personal Injury Lawyers with Rainwater, Holt & Sexton ask motorists to put their phones down and focus on the road when at the wheel of a vehicle.
