Devyn A. Watson was born and raised in Warren, Arkansas, and graduated from Woodlawn High School. She went on to attend Lyon College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with minors in English and Spanish. During college, Devyn interned in Washington, D.C. and spent a summer living in Nicaragua. Her commitment to helping others has been a defining part of her personal and professional journey.
After graduating from college in 2017, Devyn began her career with the State of Arkansas at the Attorney General’s Office as a Government and Community Relations Representative. She continued working for the State while attending law school part-time beginning in 2019, later serving as a paralegal and law clerk in the Consumer Protection Division and paralegal for the Chief Deputy and Chief of Staff. Her work brought her into contact with people facing difficult and sometimes overwhelming circumstances, and it was there that her passion for helping others grew stronger.
After five years with the state of Arkansas, and in her final year of law school, Devyn joined the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office as a Victim Advocate and Rule XV Law Clerk. During law school, she served as Treasurer of the Christian Legal Society and Clerk for the Phi Alpha Delta Robinson Chapter. While living in Arkadelphia, she also served as a board member for the Clark County Community Foundation.
Devyn graduated from law school in 2023 and was admitted to practice law in Arkansas. In 2024, she moved to Texas, where she became licensed to practice law and joined a civil litigation firm handling matters involving debt defense, repossession deficiencies, and insurance subrogation. In that role, Devyn appeared in court and mediations, advocating for individuals facing significant financial challenges.
For Devyn, practicing law has never been simply about the legal issue in front of her. She understands that when someone needs an attorney, there is usually a person and story behind the case. Whether a client is dealing with financial stress, uncertainty about what comes next, or simply does not know where to turn, Devyn believes they deserve someone who will listen, explain what is happening, and stand in their corner. Devyn is excited to be a part of Rainwater, Holt & Sexton and serve with integrity, dedication, and compassion.
Aside from practicing law, Devyn enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter. She also enjoys music, art, golf, fly fishing, camping, traveling, and attending church.
