River Valley Food 4 Kids
In Russellville, River Valley Food 4 Kids is tackling food insecurity in the River Valley one child at a time. Because of their dedication, River Valley Food 4 Kids has seen a steady decline in food insecure children since its inception in 2014. Currently, they are feeding between 700-800 children a week with them receiving an average 15 pounds of food that includes fresh food provided by local farmers and the Arkansas Food Bank. In April 2020, River Valley Food 4 Kids hit a milestone of serving 1 million meals. To celebrate, a local artist created a beautiful mural on their building. We wanted to recognize River Valley Food 4 Kids as this month’s Spirit of Arkansas Award winner for their amazing work of taking care of the children in the Arkansas River Valley.
