What’s Being Done to Help Prevent Arkansas Big Truck Accidents?

We depend on the trucking industry to transport the goods we need, but the large volume of big rig traffic on our nation’ s highways results in a large number of collisions each year.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports approximately 124,000 commercial tractor-trailers involved in collisions in the U.S. in 2008, with a portion of those being Arkansas big truck accidents.

To help reduce the number of collisions involving tractor-trailers in The Natural State, the Arkansas Trucking Association is using a new approach to promote safety and awareness in the trucking industry.  The organization has released two videos showcasing safety stories told by truck drivers and others in the industry to increase awareness of what goes into keeping big rigs  operating safely.

The hope is that more honest and open communication will bridge the gap between the public and the trucking industry.

At Rainwater, Holt & Sexton, we know the emotional, physical, and financial consequences that can come from accidents involving big rigs. That’s why our team of Little Rock personal injury attorneys is hopeful this new approach to promoting safety will be a success.
