Reaching Our Children and Neighborhood (R.O.C.A.N.)
After school programs are very important to send kids in the right direction. Reaching Our Children and Neighborhood (ROCAN) is helping fill that need in North Little Rock. The program, started by a former gang member, gives children a safe place to come and learn and to just be a kid. The program was started 13 years ago and has served many children over that time. For seeing the need in the community and rising up to help its youth, we are proud to present a $1,000 check and the Victory Over Violence Difference Makers Award to ROCAN.
The Difference Makers award is in conjunction with the Victory Over Violence campaign launched by KARK Channel 4 and Fox 16. Once a month, Rainwater, Holt & Sexton presents a $1,000 donation to an organization fighting violence in the community and has established themselves as a true Difference Maker. The partnership goal is to create a safer Central Arkansas by uniting community groups promoting change through improvements in education, jobs, mentoring, and hunger.
