Junior Achievement of Arkansas

Junior Achievement of Arkansas is bridging the gap for students between classroom learning and real-world application. Through Junior Achievement, professionals come into the classroom to talk about big ideas like markets, economics, entrepreneurship, and small practical ideas like balancing a checkbook and sticking to a budget. These life and business skills are often missing from regular classroom curriculum, so the students can benefit greatly from the team of volunteers that work both in the classroom and in after-school programs. The work that Junior Achievement is doing to educate the future of Arkansas is why they are this month’s Spirit of Arkansas Award winner.

Rainwater, Holt & Sexton are partnered with KATV Channel 7 to present the “Spirit of Arkansas Award.” The award is given to local charities doing exceptional work in the community. To be considered for the Spirit of Arkansas Award, a charity can apply here.
