Thea Foundation

The fine arts are important to the Thea Foundation and for 16 years it has been doing its part to facilitate, advance, and advocate for the arts in Arkansas. As less of an emphasis is being put on arts in schools, the Thea Foundation is doing its part to fill that role. Its mission is to “help kids find confidence, self-worth and perspective through creative expression, from experiences in many arts-related activities, both extra-curricular and in-school.” Programs benefit students K-12 and after high school with the Thea Scholarship Program.

The Thea Scholarship Program has awarded more than $2.25 million to deserving Arkansas students. Scholarships are awarded for visual arts, performing arts, creative writing, film, and many other categories, no matter what major the student is pursuing.

The Thea Foundation is also home to Thea’s Art Closet, is the Thea Foundations way of providing art supplies to teachers all over Arkansas. Over the years over $1.5 million worth of art supplies have been given to art programs at schools all over the state. This helps make art accessible to students in schools where budgets might normally not allow it.

The Thea Foundation has done wonders over the years helping introduce students to art and advance their learning and skills. We are excited to announce them as the Spirit of Arkansas award winner.
