St. Francis House
Little Rock’s St. Francis House is focused on meeting the basic needs of the poor, that is why they are this week’s Spirit of Arkansas Award winner. This non-profit covers everything from food, to medicine, to a place to stay for veterans and a free clinic for those in need. They have had great success in the veteran community, as the veterans who come out of the St. Francis House program have better success rates than the national average. Around 40,000 people in Central Arkansas were helped out by the St. Francis House in 2015, and they don’t expect that to be slowing anytime soon.
Rainwater, Holt & Sexton are partnered with KATV Channel 7 to present the “Spirit of Arkansas Award.” The award is given to local charities doing exceptional work in the community. To be considered for the Spirit of Arkansas Award, a charity can apply here.
